I knew an Englishman here in SA who was big into crypto and especially MTI. He and his father were investing much of what they had in Steynberg's ponzi scheme. And he was boasting about it, telling me to put money into it. One day I spent a couple of hours investigating them. And because I'm a computer programmer, I could see weird things on their website which I was suspicious of. I told the guy to stay away from these people and I would not deal with them at all.

In the end this was a massive ponzi scheme. Steynberg fled from South Africa to Brazil and apparently died there. One can't be sure.

In total he stole $350 million or R6.5 billion mostly from White South Africans! What a sack of shit he was.

I still have my analysis of MTI which I did in April 2020. This was how my long email of my analysis to the Englishman started:

I've spent a couple of hours looking into this thing and I'm convinced this is nothing more than a pyramid marketing scam with a cute, but basic, front end. This guy who is running this is a known scam artist. I'm also going to send this to another pal of mine who has done research for me in the past, to see what he can find. I will show you what I've found and why I am extremely wary of this. I had thought of registering and just putting a small sum in, but now that I've looked at it, I won't even register. This thing makes me EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE.

Note, their offices are down the road from me. I can actually drive there for you if you wish. Its not far. If lockdown is lifted, I could even walk into their offices and pretend to be interested.
