Colonel Lionel Dyck was a former Rhodesian military officer who stayed on after the country's transition to becoming Zimbabwe. He become a colonel in the Zimbabwe National Army before later retiring to South Africa. He created a military company which was hired by the Black Government of Mozambique who were losing badly to some Black Muslim Terrorists. The entire company was about 30 men strong, with some Blacks. But it was mostly a White outfit and they fought with helicopters. They were extremely successful in Mozambique. Later they were accused of killing civilians and they pulled out of Mozambique. They were replaced by thousands of Black troops from many countries in South Africa who struggled to fight the Black terrorists and were unsuccessful. This is an important topic which I will be revisiting. This is a video they put out about their operations in Mozambique. As you can see, these are mostly White men from South Africa! Rhodesian and South African helicopter tactics still work even in the 2020s.
